husband Andrew as late as 1849, in Coles co., Il., when they signed a deed
of conveyance selling land. Neither Phebe nor Andrew appears in the
1850 Coles Co. census. She may have died in that period. More research
is needed to fix her time/place of death. we found no indication she was
buried with her husband or son in Mystic, Mo., so we conjecture she may
have been buried in the Wright Cem., Pleasant Grove Twp., Coles Co . . .
We visited the graveyard in 1992. We did not find any Alexander
headstones, although many Alexanders were believed to have been buried
there, according to a cemetery book pub. by Coles co. Gen. Soc. There is
mention of a cholora epidemic in the 1830s, resulting in many burials in
this graveyard. . . many of the graves in the center of the area are
unmarked."
