!BIOGRAPHY: William S. Dye was born in Morgan Co. OH May 3, 1826, and died at
the home of his son, James Dye, near Dayton on Monday, June 3, 1907, of
congestion of the brain. He was married to Ruth Brooks in 1851, and to this
union were born 6 sons and two daughters. The family moved to OR in 1882. He
resided at Coos Bay until the death of his wife in 1895, then lived with his
children. He became a member of the Free Will Baptist church in 1874. William
Dye also attended the Portland Exibition
