Pierre and his son, Joshua, had each obtained grants of 88 acres on the
northwest side of Staten Isl. surveyed to them Dec. 24, 1680, patents issued
Dec. 30, 1680. Their lands are shown on the Root map. The signatures of Moy
Pier Cresson and Jacques Cresson appear at page 405 in Riker's History {R.H.}

appointed 'lancepesade', a military office at New Haerlem . . . made his will
Oct. 1, 1669, naming his wife, and young ch., also his brothers-in-law,
Nicholas de la Plaine and Nicholas du Puis (Depew). (De Puis' wife was Mrs.
Cresson's sister.) . . . After Jaques' death . . . Marie, his widow, and her
family went to Curacao in 1685. The supposition that she drowned there must
surely be an error (SIH 23:2,3).
On Nov. 3, 1696, Maria Cresson bought land in Phil. at N.E. corner of 4th &
Chestnut Sts. . . soon moved to Philadelphia, where she died, according to

Families Uziele and Casier" Marie and her husband Philippe Casier sailed
directly for the Manhattans from the Texel in the Netherlands on 27 April 1660
on board the Gilded Otter, and settled at Harlem. On 23 July 1664, 17 Harlem
residents of both sexes had their names transferred to the register of the
church at Fort Amsterdam, to which several of them had previusly belong. Marie
Taine and Philippe Casier were among the seventeen listed. the complete list

and Jacquline Parisis, his wife; Johanes Verveelen and Anna Jaersvelt, his
