!RESIDENCE: Peter and his family moved to Kentucky, Jefferson County, when he
entered land on Pottinger's Creek on July 4, 1783. He was one of the earliest
settlers in the area.

He may have been the first of the Abell family to come to Kentucky.
Obtained grant of 2,500 acres on Pottinger's Creek, Nelson, Co., in 1783;
later obtained grant of 1,000 acres in Breckenridge Co.
